Many people do not realise that air ambulances are charities. EHAAT relies almost entirely on donations and fundraising to stay operational, yet they are there 24 hours a day, seven days a week, when people need urgent medical help the most.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance provides a helicopter emergency medical service and rapid response vehicles across Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Their highly trained doctors and critical care paramedics bring advanced medical care directly to patients at the scene of serious accidents or medical emergencies.
Quite simply, they bring the hospital to the patient when time really matters.
Their helicopters and response cars carry specialist equipment, including blood products, allowing the team to deliver treatment that can mean the difference between life and death before a patient even reaches hospital.
Our team of experts is here to help in answering any query you may have.
EHAAT responds to incidents every day, often within minutes of a 999 call. They help people of all ages, from road traffic accidents to serious medical emergencies, and their service is completely free to those who need it.
None of this would be possible without public support. It costs millions of pounds each year to keep the helicopters flying, the vehicles on the road and the crews ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
