Barking station has fast trains to Fenchurch Street which take between 15 and 20 minutes. It is also on the District and Hammersmith & City tube lines as well as the London Overground line to Gospel Oak.

The London Overground line is being extended to take it from Barking to a new station at Barking Riverside.

There are four further District line stations in Barking and Dagenham, these are: Upney, Becontree, Dagenham Heathway and Dagenham East.
