Home Information Packs

The government announced that Home Information Packs including Energy Performance Certificates will be implemented on a phased basis from 1st August 2007.

What is a Home Information Pack?

A Home Information Pack contains the key information about a property, such as an Energy Performance Certificate, standard searches and evidence of title.

Which documents are compulsory?

* Index of documents contained in the H.I.P
* Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) or predicted energy assessment
* Sale statement
* Standard searches – e.g local land charges, enquiries, drainage and water searches
* Evidence of title

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

The Energy Performance Certificates highlight how energy efficient a property is by giving it a rating from A-G, where A is the most energy efficient. They also offer advice on how to save energy and reduce fuel bills.
